Required Skills /
Experience:
Valid Illinois driver's license.
Working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical repairs.
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Must have pleasant work manner and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work independently.
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for minor repairs, basic limited custodial and ground maintenance activities in and around the library.
Keeps building clean and orderly and grounds attractive and neat.
Completes checklists to assess proper operation of equipment.
Makes building repairs including painting, installation of replacement parts, and light carpentry.
Assists with movement of furniture and equipment.
Assembles, disassembles, and disposes of equipment as necessary.
Assists with emergencies pertaining to building and grounds.
Answers off-hour emergency calls regarding building problems.
Assist in and maintain building safety and report safety hazards.
Execute all job duties in a safe manner.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to take coordinate and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Performs other maintenance duties as requested.
